Sangeeta Jain

Sangeeta Jain brings over 15 years of concentrated experience in Indian and international income tax law, built across Big Four firms and respected mid-sized practices. A Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, her career has been shaped almost entirely by direct tax: advisory, litigation support, compliance, and the discipline of making complex tax law accessible.

Her advisory work centres on non-routine questions that sit at the intersection of domestic provisions, cross-border taxation, double taxation avoidance agreements, and business restructuring. In litigation, she prepares detailed submissions for assessments, reassessments, and appeals before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, along with procedural applications under the Income Tax Act.

Sangeeta has contributed meaningfully to tax scholarship. She was entrusted with updating a prestigious multi-volume legal commentary on income tax law under the guidance of an eminent jurist, and co-authored a published work on corporate taxation, with a foreword by a retired Supreme Court Justice, examining the interplay of domestic provisions, judicial precedents, and tax treaties on corporate tax liabilities and restructuring. She continues to contribute in-depth articles to recognised tax journals.

Within the firm, she leads knowledge initiatives: tracking amendments, curating case law with distilled legal ratios, conducting training on evolving tax jurisprudence, and drafting client alerts on sector-specific developments. Her approach treats tax not as a compliance exercise alone, but as a lens through which business decisions become clearer.
